City Of Fairfax: Traffic Detours In Effect July 3-4 For Independence Day Celebration Events

The following detours will be in effect July 3-4 for Independence Day activities.

• July 3 — Independence Day Parade: Route 236/Main Street will be detoured to North Street from 7:30 a.m. until after the parade concludes (around noon). During that time, affected portions of University Drive, George Mason Boulevard, and Route 123/Chain Bridge Road will be rerouted, and parking will be restricted on those roads.
• July 4 — Evening Show and Fireworks: No through-traffic will be permitted from about 9:15 p.m. to about 11 p.m. on Old Lee Highway. Please note: If the fireworks are postponed to July 5, the Old Lee Highway detours will be in effect at that time.
