Fairfax Route 123 Sidewalk Project Update: Temporary Road Closure Rescheduled To April 21-22

CUE Bus patrons should plan ahead and expect possible delays, as buses also will rely on alternate lane control to maintain flow of traffic.

There will be a stormwater pipe replacement on Route 123/Chain Bridge Road in the Rust Curve sidewalk project area.

The following detours will be implemented:

  • April 21-22, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (please note date change):
    • Southbound traffic will be detoured to University Drive via Kenmore Drive, then back to Route 123 via Whitehead Street.
    • Northbound traffic will follow the current detour route.

CUE Bus detour will be in effect:

  • Southbound CUE Green 1 & 2 buses will detour on Kenmore Dr, University Dr, and Whitehead St.
  • Northbound traffic will follow the current detour route.

Please follow direction in and around the work area. Expect delays during these times, and consider alternate routes.
