Fairfax Route 123 Sidewalk Project Update: Temporary Road Closure Rescheduled To April 21-22

April 1, 2020

There will be a stormwater pipe replacement on Route 123/Chain Bridge Road in the Rust Curve sidewalk project area.

The following detours will be implemented:

• April 21-22, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (please note date change):
  • Southbound traffic will be detoured to University Drive via Kenmore Drive, then back to Route 123 via Whitehead Street.
  • Northbound traffic will follow the current detour route.

CUE Bus detour will be in effect:

• Southbound CUE Green 1 & 2 buses will detour on Kenmore Dr, University Dr, and Whitehead St.
• Northbound traffic will follow the current detour route.

Please follow direction in and around the work area. Expect delays during these times, and consider alternate routes.

Additionally, CUE Bus patrons should plan ahead and expect possible delays, as buses also will rely on alternate lane control to maintain flow of traffic. Click here for CUE Bus information, or visit cuebus.org.
