Give the Gift of a 'Fairfax Legacy' This Season
There are many ways to give the gift of legacy in Fairfax City.

We all have that one person on our gift-giving list that's just impossible to buy for, right?
This year, the City of Fairfax would like to suggest the perfect gift for that certain someone that seems to have everything—the gift of legacy.
The Legacy For Fairfax program allows people naming rights and opportunities in a number of different forms. In exchange for a donation, someone can "live forever" in the form of a plaque on a city bench or planted tree, a brick in a city building, or other ways.
"The Legacy Program is your unique way to contribute to the development and enhancement of the City of Fairfax," said staff members of the City's Parks and Recreation Department.
Money for legacy donations are used to maintain and improve City parks and facilities such as the Sherwood Community Center.
"The City of Fairfax is home to some of the best parks and recreation programs in all of Virginia," City staff members say.
"In a City that has over 72 percent of its population utilizing a park more than once a week, and that attracts hundreds of visitors and users throughout the year from all over the country, maintaining our stellar parks and recreation facilities and programs to meet the always changing needs of our community is a challenge," they added. "The Legacy for Fairfax program strives to provide additional resources to leverage taxes, fees and grants to enhance the Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center, Green Acres Center, Old Town Hall, parks, facilities, trails, arts, events and programs."
