Henry Clay Gibson, 79, of Fairfax, Virginia, passed away September 10, 2014, the son of Addison Gibson and Elma Adkins.

He was honorably discharged from the United States Army with the rank of technical specialist, having served two years of active duty and received the Good Conduct Medal.

Henry was a mechanic at the Springfield Palone Chevrolet and Bob Peck Chevrolet in Tysons Corner, VA . He worked over 30 years as a mechanic at Koons Pontiac in Vienna, VA and spent 15 years as a truck driver for VDOT.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Evelyn and second wife Ellen Kathleen and his ten siblings; Dera Bond, Rossey Gibson, Dora Abdulkadir, Randy Gibson, Laura Purdue, Vern Gibson, Hardney Gibson, Handy Gibson, Joseph Gibson, and Mary Gibson-Hayes.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Dreama Gibson-Potts, six step-children; Wiley (Mary) Craighead, Julia Craighead, George Eddie (Evelyn) Nash, Ruth Sparks, Wayne (Pat) Rowland, Nathan (Karen) Williams; two devoted granddaughters, Julie (John) Curilla and Kimberly Potts, nephew Reggie (Maria) Gibson, many nieces and nephews. Henry was also a foster grandfather to many grandchildren, including Nicole Reynolds, Richard Jones, Yarvin Cuchilla, Emely Hernandez and Paul Jeffries.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 16, 2014, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Everly Funeral Home, 10565 Main Street, Fairfax, VA, with funeral services immediately following. Interment will be Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Culpeper National Cemetery, 305 U.S. Avenue, Culpeper, VA.
