Make Mother’s Day Brunch, Dinner Reservations Now In Fairfax City

More eateries in Fairfax City may be open for Mother's Day 2021, but it's a good idea to reserve a spot now. Others offer pickup deals.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Everything Mom has done over the past year of the coronavirus pandemic should add up to an extra-special 2021 Mother’s Day celebration on Sunday, May 9. To start her the day off right, how about taking Mom to her favorite Fairfax brunch spot?

Many restaurants and eateries are still limiting seating, so making a reservation early is especially important this year. And if you’re still undecided about going to a sit-down restaurant, curbside pickup or delivery is an option in many places.

Some hometown restaurants here in the Fairfax City area are always good bets to pamper Mom include:

  • Hamrock's Restaurant, located at 3950 Chain Bridge Road in Fairfax, offers brunch Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner Tuesday through Sunday, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Family meals are available for pickup.
  • P.J. Skidoos, located at 9908 Fairfax Blvd., once again is offering a Mother's Day Brunch on May 9, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Reservations are required.
  • Arties, located at 3260 Old Lee Highway in Fairfax, offers Sunday Brunch, featuring specialties like Bubble and Squeak and Short Smoked Salmon Filet, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • First Watch, located at 9600 Main St., Suite S, in Fairfax City Mall, specializes in serving an award-winning breakfast, brunch, and lunch daily from 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
  • Bellissimo Restaurant, located at 10403 Main Street in Fairfax, will be opened for extended hours on Mother's Day Weekend, May 8 and May 9

But again, call ahead for reservations; some of your local favorites may be closed on Mother’s Day so the moms who work there can have a day off with their families.

Many restaurants offer prix fixe menus, signature cocktails, decadent desserts and five-star service.

  • Founding Farmers Tysons, located at 1800 Tysons Blvd. in Tysons, is offering scratch-made food, delicious drinks, and chocolate for mom.
  • Carrabba's Italian Grill, located at 5805 Trinity Parkway in Centreville, is offering classic, made-from-scratch Italian dishes for Mother's Day. Order Fettuccine Weesie, Lasagne, and Polla Rosa Maria. Family bundles for five people are also available for carside carryout.
  • Bonefish Grill, located at 13005 Lee Jackson Highway in Fairfax is offering its Mahi & Shrimp family-style meal for five that includes a choice of salad and family-style sides of mashed potatoes and vegetables, bread with pesto and a dessert duo of cheesecake and cookies.
  • Olive Garden, located at 12980 Fair Lakes Shopping Center in Fairfax offers family-style takeout meals for five that include ready-to-bake entrees and breadsticks with homemade alfredo or marinara dipping sauce, and a large house solid with the signature Italian dressing.
  • The Capital Grille, located at 1861 International Drive in McLean, is offering to-go service that includes a three-course dinner featuring roasted beef tenderloin with a choice of butter poached North Atlantic lobster tails or scampi-style jumbo shrimp, served with green beans, mashed potatoes, a baked flourless chocolate espresso cake and lemon tea cookies.
  • Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, located at 8521 Leesburg Pike in Tysons, offers a prix fixe family meal for four that includes its signature Surf & Turf (a 6-, 8- or 11-ounce filet paired with buttery cold water lobster tail); a Caesar or steak house salad; and a choice of two from a list of sides that includes garlic mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, steamed broccoli or sweet potato casserole; and a mini cheesecake.
