Northern Virginia's work-week weather forecast offers a chance of rain but not until later in the frame: National Weather Service.

STERLING, VA — Northern Virginia's post-Thanksgiving work-week weather forecast is about as benign as these things can be this time of the year, according to the area branch of the National Weather Service in Sterling. Namely, we're looking at highs around 60 with plenty of sunshine.

Not until late in the week is any real chance of rain expected. Meanwhile, lows will stay well above the freezing point. Here's the detailed forecast from the National Weather Service:

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 60. Light southeast wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the morning.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 43. South wind 6 to 8 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 61.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 40.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 55.

Thursday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Friday: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 52. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
