Northern Virginia Weather: Stylin' Work Week

STERLING, VA — Coming on the heels of beautiful Sunday that followed a dreary few days, there's little not to like about the looming work week. According to the National Weather Service branch in Sterling, abundant sunshine is expected through at least Wednesday. Too, temperatures should be relatively pleasant.

Not until Thursday is there expected to be a decent chance of rain. Isolated showers also are possible for Friday, but most of the day should offer party sunny skies. Here's the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 82. North wind around 9 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 65. North wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 86. North wind 3 to 6 mph.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 68. Light and variable wind.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 88. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 70.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 71.

Thursday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after 9am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
