The Northern Virginia weekend weather forecast is not exactly a Chamber of Commerce postcard. But there is, in fact, reason for hope.
STERLING, VA — The Northern Virginia weekend weather forecast is not exactly a Chamber of Commerce postcard. But there is, in fact, reason for hope, especially on Sunday. That's the word from the area arm of the National Weather Service in Sterling.
Saturday is expected to be mostly cloudy with a 60 percent chance of rain during much of the day. The temperature will struggle to get out of the mid-60s, and wind gusts could be around 35 mph. Sunday, however, gets a bit better.
There's only a slight chance of rain, and the sun will play peek-a-boo with the clouds most of the day. There's still a chance of strong wind gusts, though. The temperature, meanwhile, will remain relatively nippy, with highs expected to be in the low 60s.

Saturday: Showers likely, mainly between 11am and 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64. Southwest wind 14 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Saturday Night: A chance of showers, mainly before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48. West wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
