STERLING, VA — Officially, the first day of autumn isn't until Sept. 22 but Northern Virginia's weekend weather certainly will have shades of early fall — especially at night. That's the word from the area arm of the National Weather Service in Sterling. It's not going to last, of course, but enjoy it while you can.

Both Saturday and Sunday will offer sun, especially the latter, with highs each day in the upper 70s. Then come the evenings, with lows expected to be south of 65.
