Northern Virginia Weekend Weather: Some Like It Hot

For those who like it hot, the Northern Virginia weekend weather forecast should be a welcome one. For those who don't, not so much.

STERLING, VA — Regarding weather, the story heading into the weekend is the heat. Not the mix of sun and clouds, not the specter of isolated thunderstorms and not the breezes that don't really feel like breezes. No, the story will continue to be the heat, according to the area arm of the National Weather Service in Sterling.

Friday will be mostly sunny with highs hear 97 and a heat index approaching 105. Saturday? Partly sunny with highs near 95 and a heat index approaching 101. Sunday? Mostly cloudy with highs near 96 and a heat index once again topping 100.
