NoVA, DC Weather: Chilly Fall Temps Arrive This Week
Low temperatures are expected to dip below 60 this week in DC and northern Virginia as the official start of autumn approaches.

WASHINGTON, DC — While it's still summer, after a sweltering Monday it will feel like sweater weather later this week in the early mornings across the District of Columbia and northern Virginia. Temperatures will dip below 60 degrees this week as the first day of autumn approaches, forecasters say.
Monday's high temperature will top 90 degrees, but highs should then stay at 80 or below until the weekend when it will feel like summer again. Overnight lows will be in the 50s Tuesday through Thursday.
Early risers should pull out their jackets Wednesday and Thursday as the mercury will fall into the upper 50s by sunrise on those days, according to the National Weather Service.

The rest of the week should be comfortable with high temperatures in the mid- to upper-70s, the weather service's forecast shows. But things will warm up again over the weekend with a Saturday high of 86 and 90 again on Sunday before fall officially starts next Monday, forecasters say.
Another very warm day today, with a bit more humidity than yesterday. A back door cold front may spawn a few showers tonight into early Tuesday, with cooler air arriving behind it. pic.twitter.com/6QIkM8n2RG
