The old sycamore tree at Ratcliffe Park continues to be an important part of Fairfax City, thanks to a creative approach.

The old sycamore tree at Ratcliffe Park continues to be an important part of Fairfax City. Thanks to a creative approach by the City of Fairfax Commission on the Arts, park visitors will see the tree in in a new way: as a tree sculpture.

This enchanting sculpture features six new park residents — an owl, a squirrel, two raccoons, a fox, and a bear. They needed names, however, and you did just that. You suggested various names, then voted on the finalists.
