Snow/Rain Mix Timeline: Northern Virginia Weather

Snow is moving toward the region and we've got the latest timeline and what impacts you can expect in the Northern Virginia forecast.

Forecasters expect little accumulation in the region — possibly none in areas around Fredericksburg.

The region will start seeing rain at 2 p.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain and snow will mix Saturday night, turning to all snow after 2 a.m., with lows around 34 degrees, limiting accumulation.

New snow accumulation of less than a half-inch possible overnight, according to the weather service.

We'll see snow Sunday until 2 p.m., then there will be a chance of rain as temperatures enter the low 40s. Again, less than a half-inch of accumulation.

There's a chance of rain showers as the sun sets Sunday night, then a chance of rain and snow showers until 2 a.m. Monday.

The biggest threat in this storm may be slick conditions Monday morning. Temperatures will be at or just below freezing as commuters begin hitting the roads.
