Velocity Wings Restaurant Coming To Fairfax

FAIRFAX, VA—Velocity Wings, ostensibly a traditional Buffalo wings joint but actually a restaurant that offers far more than just wings, is coming to Fairfax this summer with its seventh Northern Virginia location. It'll be part of University Mall at 10653 Braddock Road near George Mason University.

The new location, specific opening date TBA, will have more than 3,000 square feet in a free-standing building. It will include two large outdoor patios, one of them a covered, enclosed year-round patio. Several garage doors will "allow open-air ambience, online ordering through Chow Now, and delivery service through Door Dash."

Velocity Wings is a full-service restaurant that offers, yes, what it dubs its "world famous wings," as well as, of course, beer—and wine. But it also has a wide variety of the following: salads, burgers, sandwiches, wraps and desserts. Not to forget, it also has a relatively extensive kids' menu.

Its owner, Jim Speros, is a former assistant coach for the Washington Redskins during the first of Joe Gibbs' two stints as coach. "I am excited that we are able to once again partner with Patriot Nation at George Mason University," he said in a statement, " At Velocity Wings, our commitment is to become part of the fabric of the community."

Velocity Wings also has locations in Purcellville, South Riding, Bristow, Manassas, Lovettsville and Sterling.
