Virginia Memorial Day Weekend Weather Forecast: Heat Returns
The Memorial Day weekend weather forecast for Northern Virginia could be a lot worse. Also, we take a look at the area beaches' outlook.
STERLING, VA — Although the next couple of days are expected to bring a sizable amount of rain and clouds, there's relief on the way just in time for the Memorial Day weekend. That's the word from the National Weather Service area outpost in Sterling. Things won't be ideal for Northern Virginia, but with highs Saturday, Sunday and Monday expected to reach the low 80s, a chance of showers each day shouldn't be that much of a drag.
Friday arrives with a welcome break from the overcast gloom of the past few days. It's expected to feature party sunny skies with highs in the mid-70s. After that, we get off to what's expected to be a pretty good weekend. And looking ahead, Tuesday's looking quite spiffy.

Saturday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Sunday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Memorial Day: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 81. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 63.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 81.
