Virginia Weather Warning: High Winds To Cause Scattered Power Outages
Wind gusts up to 60 mph for parts of Northern Virginia Sunday night and Monday morning.

STERLING, VA — High winds are expected to cause scattered power outages through Monday in portions of Northern Virginia. Across the region, we can expect high winds until Monday evening.
A high wind warning has been issued for Washington, D.C., and communities in and around Fairfax, Arlington and Loudoun counties in Northern Virginia, with winds gusting up to 6o mph. The strongest winds will be overnight through Monday morning from the northwest at 25 to 35 mph.
A wind advisory has been issued for the rest of the region, with wind speeds gusting up to 50 mph and sustained winds up to 30 mph.

Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees and power lines, the weather service warned. Scattered power outages are expected in the warning area. If you suffer a power outage, the numbers to call are:

Sunday afternoon: Showers likely, mainly before 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 57. Light and variable wind becoming northwest 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Tonight: A slight chance of showers before 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. Windy, with a northwest wind 14 to 19 mph increasing to 25 to 30 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Monday: Sunny, with a high near 45. Windy, with a northwest wind 22 to 31 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph.
Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 28. Northwest wind 7 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 48. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.
