You're Invited To A Spring Planting Party
Planting parties are a great way to get motivated to finally get that gardening project done.
Anything worth doing is worth celebrating!
And there is no better celebration than a special day spent with girlfriends planting your spring garden. This idea is very similar to once popular paint parties but with a different focus in mind. Planting parties are a great way to get motivated to finally get that gardening project completed, and because it is a group effort, the project will get done in record time.
Here are a few tips to help you pull it all together:

#1 Prepare a guest list and send out physical invitations.
Choose invitations with a garden theme. You can also keep it simple by just sending a note inviting them over for day of fun. Although text messages and electronic e-vites have become standard, make this event special by sending something that can be treasured in years to come.

#2 Make your purchases
In advance of the party, purchase all seedlings, seeds, soil, markers to identify plants or other needed supplies and have them on hand when your team arrives. Be sure to purchase a few extra seed packets to hand out as parting gifts as a way of kicking off the next planting location.
#3 Map out your planting area
Determine where and then prepare the planting area or if you are planting in pots, put them in position ahead of time.
#4 Make a party plan
Write down your plan for the garden, make copies and upon arrival hand out the plan to each of your girlfriends. Assign a section to each person, making sure to talk over the plan of execution before beginning the work.
#5 Don't forget the food
Set up an area in a shady spot for lunch along with keeping plenty of cool, refreshing drinks on hand. Choose foods that are light, refreshing and reflective of the spring season.
#5 Spread the word
Take lots of pictures and for those of you who are on social media, be sure to share your experience with other gardeners including sending me a note about your experience to farmgirlinthecity.com or @bonniemcgood on Twitter and Instagram. Be sure to also sign up for my farmgirlinthecity newsletter for future tips and ideas.
#6 Mark the calendar for the next planting party
Commit to doing the same for the rest of the team to give back what was so generously given to you.
