Adat Reyim Blood Drive Huge Success

On Sunday, December 14th, Congregation Adat Reyim hosted its Annual Blood Drive.

The blood drive was a huge success! We added 31 units of blood to the INOVA blood bank supply!

We had many return donors: Sue Aft, Louise, Allen and Brett Lawrence, Bill Korth, Murray Loew, Maurice Mizrahi, Rebecca Gibson, and Steven Adleberg.

We had several first time participants including: Sarah Emmett, pre-school director Heather Glick, Jeff Sachs, and programming director Michelle Brennner. Michelle Brenner was a first time donor and she exited the bloodmobile with a big smile!

Veteran donator Jessica Hyde prepared by eating salmon and spinach the evening before she donated and Amy Brenner advised drinking a lot of water. Jeanne Kadet was particularly pleased because INOVA staffer Mike promised that he could draw her blood without leaving a bruise.

Steve Adleberg brought the blood drive to CAR about 20 years ago. “When I was growing up, my synagogue in Baltimore had an annual blood drive. I thought Adat Reyim should have one, too.”
