Once again Assistance League of Northern Virginia members, family and friends had a very enjoyable afternoon at a Fall Fundraising Wine Social. The event was held at Paradise Springs Winery in Clifton, Virginia on Sunday, November 3rd. The winery’s lovely venue was enhanced by sunny weather, allowing guests to enjoy a variety of Paradise Springs wines and a wide selection of hors d’oeuvres in both indoor and outdoor areas. Attendees enjoyed socializing and the opportunity to meet members’ spouses and other family members. President Kathy Jackson drew the tickets to determine winners of the three gorgeous raffle baskets featuring summertime, golf and New Years items. Funds raised from the raffle and ticket sales will be used to support the organization’s Children’s Programs that provide food, clothing and comfort items and help develop literacy skills for elementary students. Display boards highlighted many aspects of the ongoing programs.

Much appreciation goes to Carrie Sawicki for her hard work in planning and coordinating the Wine Social. Kudos also go to Mary Spence and Carrie for putting together the beautiful raffle baskets. Many members contributed to the success of the afternoon by contributing items for the baskets, bringing a fabulous array of outstanding hors d’oeuvres, assisting with reservations and tickets, and photographing the event. The Wine Social provided a welcome opportunity for members and guests to socialize while supporting Assistance League programs.

Assistance League of Northern Virginia is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization www.alnv.org
