Chuys Mexican Food Restaurant Opens Tuesday on Lee Highway

Chain got its start in Austin, Texas. Elvis shrine, hub-capped ceilings, unlimited Happy Hour nachos included with new restaurant.

Love Mexican food? Then you’ll love Chuy’s, serving up tacos, burritos and margaritas beginning Tuesday for lunch and dinner at 11219 Lee Highway near the Wal-Mart store. The chain got its start in 1982 in Austin.

The hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. every Friday and Saturday. Happy hours will include an unlimited build-your-own nachos station.

The menu includes homemade sauces, authentic recipe-based food from southern Texas, New Mexico and towns near the border in Mexico. The restaurant’s style is “fun and quirky,” according to the company.

Also, “Diners can expect a vibrant atmosphere complete with an Elvis Shrine, the La Chihuahua Bar featuring framed pictures of local dogs, a “school” of hand-carved wooden fish, metal palm trees and a hubcap-covered ceiling,” a press release notes.

Every Chuy’s restaurant features an Elvis shrine.

Chuy’s is also opening in October in the new Springfield Town Center, and they are accepting job applications. You can apply in person at the Comfort Inn in Springfield, Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Chuy’s has locations across the Southeast United States and in Ohio. The closest locations to Northern Virginia are in Midlothian and Richmond.
