Discounted Adoption Fees Available At DC, NoVA Area Animal Rescue
As part of its Primo Day promotion, Homeward Trails Animal Rescue is offing discounts on its adoption fees for a limited time.

FAIRFAX STATION, VA — Waiting for the perfect opportunity to adopt a pet? Then wait no longer, because Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, the largest non-profit animal rescue serving the Washington, D.C. region, is hosting Primo Day, offering discounted adoption fees for those looking to bring home an animal in need.
“Our Adoption Center and foster homes are full as often happens in the summertime, but it is worse this year post-pandemic now that even more people are hitting the roads and airways to travel again,” said Sue Bell, Homeward Trail's executive director, in a release. “That means the animals residing in shelters across the State of Virginia and beyond stand little chance of rescue until we can get more animals into foster and adoptive homes. We hate to see animals die for no reason other than a lack of space in shelters. By offering these discounts, we are hoping that will motivate the public and show that NOW is the time to adopt.”
Starting Saturday and running through Tuesday, Homeward Trails will be offering Primo Day discounts on its adoption fees of 40 percent off to free. Sign up to meet cats here and dogs here.

With the help of a 24-hour, online fundraising drive, Homeward Trails also hopes to raise $6,000 in support of its medical fund. This will help the rescue to continue providing preventative and emergency medical care to thousands of animals each year in rural areas across Virginia.
“We hope that as folks out there are spending money on retail items they may or may not need, they’ll consider the animals who desperately need their support," Bell said. "So many animals saved us humans during the last 18 months and we are asking the public to pay it back a bit during this Primo Day event."
