For the second year in a row, Miss D.C. has won the Miss USA title. Unlike last year, she's stirring up quite a bit of controversy due to her remarks during the pageant. Kara McCullough, a 25-year-old scientist who works for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, was crowned Miss USA 2017 Sunday night in Las Vegas. But McCullough has earned plenty of criticism for some comments she made during the pageant, including that health care is a "privilege" and that she didn't consider herself a feminist.

Great white shark Mary Lee, which has more than 100,000 followers on Twitter, is basking in the waters off the Eastern Shore of Virginia right now, on her way to Cape Cod. She's something of a celebrity that was "tagged" five years ago by researchers with Ocearch.org, an organization that tracks the movements of great whites and tiger sharks.

White Supremacists Rally Against Lee Statue Removal In Virginia
White nationalist Richard Spencer led a group of demonstrators in Charlottesville Saturday to protest the city's decision to remove a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee. The alt-right movement leader carried a fiery torch at a rally promoting white power, while several candidates for governor, both Democrats and Republicans, condemned Spencer and his actions.
