Join Santa for the 4th Annual Candy Cane Kids Fun Run!

Santa and the Lorton Volunteer Fire Department will kick-off the 4th Annual Candy Cane Kids’ Fun Run at the Lorton Holiday Extravaganza & Craft Show on Saturday, December 7. Santa will arrive on a Lorton VFD fire truck at Stallion Stadium at 8:20 am. The big man in red will help start the Candy Cane Kids Fun Run for kids age 12 and under. After taking part in the Candy Cane Kids’ Fun Run, little ones are invited to have their IDs and fingerprinting done courtesy of the Fairfax Sheriff. A FREE Cookies with Santa event organized by SCHS Leadership students takes place from 9:30a-12noon. Kids can enjoy a snack before sitting on Santa’s lap to share their wish lists.

More than 2,000 people are expected to attend the Lorton Holiday Extravaganza & Craft Show on Saturday, December 7 from 9a-3p. 170 vendors featuring handcrafted items will offer their unique wares for sale. Everything from handmade glass ornaments and jewelry to soaps, lotions, clothing, and holiday décor will be displayed for purchase.

SCHS Band, Orchestra and Choral students will entertain throughout the day. The Band Boosters are hosting a silent auction with some great items up for grabs including:

The South County Military Connected Youth Student Club will host Greetings for the Troops where you can create a card to send to troops either deployed or rehabbing at Walter Reed. Members of the community are also invited to bring in scissors, knives and other utensils for sharpening. Enter at Door 1, the main entrance to the school, to drop off items that need sharpening. The SCHS Athletic Boosters will offer concessions for sale throughout the day. And shoppers can purchase one-of-a-kind gift baskets for the readers on their gift list at Santa’s Book Emporium.

Doors open promptly at 9a. Parking is free. Admission is $3 General Admission and $2 Seniors/Students. Military and Veterans are FREE with military identification. All FCPS teachers, staff and employees are admitted FREE with FCPS valid ID and all kids 12 and under are FREE.
