Rescue Me: 2 Cats Looking For A New Home To Love

FAIRFAX STATION, VA — This week we have a mother/daughter combo. Charlotte Marie and her kittens entered a rural shelter during the height of the pandemic. The shelter was closed and the only way out of the shelter was being transferred to a rescue group. We took Charlotte and her kittens and two of those kittens found their forever homes.

However, Charlotte Marie and Sourdough are still waiting for their home. They love to sunbathe, sit in windows, and play with feather toys. For Charlotte Marie, food is the way to her heart. She will roll over and ask for tummy rubs and happily sit next to you on the couch. Sourdough is typically busy playing with toys or her mom's tail. She even knows how to tell time — dinner time that is. She'll make sure you never forget to feed her.

Homeward Trails Animal Rescue adopts pets to homes in Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland. Anyone interested in our animals can complete an adoption questionnaire. We work with applicants to ensure a good match between them and the pet and vice versa, the adoption questionnaire is how we start the adoption discussion. Most of our animals are in foster homes in the area. Others are available to meet by appointment at our Adoption Center.
