Rescue Me: Big Heart Needed To Adopt This Big Boy Boxer

Felix the boxer is looking for a human friend who knows how to love a big dog.

FAIRFAX STATION, VA — Felix is 2 years and 9 months old Boxer mix available for adoption through the Homeward Trains Animal Rescue:

Hi there! My name is Felix! I came to Homeward Trails from Russell County, Virginia. My previous owners had to surrender me because they could no longer care for me. I love meeting new people! I am very social and ready to befriend every human I see. My favorite things to do are wrestle with my friends and play with toys! I also love food. I haven't tried a food I didn't like!

So I'm perfect, right? Right! Except I'm large. People have met me and loved me but every time they say, "Wow, he's a big boy!" I didn't know being big was a bad thing. I've always been a big boy and I can't help it.

There's gotta be someone out there who likes big dogs, right? You do? Really!? I prefer an adult only home as the only pet so I can be spoiled rotten! OK, well reach out to my people to set up a special VIP appointment during the week! I would love to meet you! And guess what? I am a part of the Go Fetch Program! My adoption fee is waived and I come with free bonus items when adopted! Do you love free things and big boy dogs? Well, come on!

Homeward Trails Animal Rescue adopts pets to homes in Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland. Anyone interested in our animals can complete an adoption questionnaire. We work with applicants to ensure a good match between them and the pet and vice versa, the adoption questionnaire is how we start the adoption discussion. Most of our animals are in foster homes in the area. Others are available to meet by appointment at our Adoption Center.
