Rescue Me: This Cat's One Cool Cucumber
Cucumber came to Homeward Trails Animal Rescue after her owner could no longer afford to care for her.
FAIRFAX STATION, VA — Cucumber came to Homeward Trails Animal Rescue when a woman reached out for help. She had several cats and could no longer afford to care for all of them. Homeward Trails went out to her house to assess the cats and Cucumber came into our program.
Cucumber is a very sweet kitty who would love to join your family. She can be shy at first, but enjoys head scratches and warms up a lot as she feels more comfortable in her surroundings. Cucumber loves to play with any toys available — string, toy mice, and balls she can bat around and chase on the floor. She is also a huge fan of her rainbow catnip banana. In between play time, she likes to take a nap on the floor next to you, on your desk, or available windowsill where she can look outside. Cucumber would love to keep you company all day long — napping close by or playing with you. She is quick to start purring when you scratch her head and will promptly flop on her side for more pets.

We work with applicants to ensure a good match between them and the pet and vice versa, the adoption questionnaire is how we start the adoption discussion. Most of our animals are in foster homes in the area. Others are available to meet by appointment at our Adoption Center.
