Brush Fire Shuts Down I-95 South at Thornburg

Update 6:58 p.m.:

Right and center lanes of I-95 have reopened. 

Update 6:01 p.m.:

VDOT said in an email that it is anticipated that one lane will be reopened within 15 minutes. A brush fire started in the median of I-95 near Exit 118, according to VDOT.

Virginia Department of Transportation is advising that motorist can expect delays on Interstate 95 southbound at mile marker 117.6 for a brush fire.

The south left shoulder, left lane, center lane, right lane, and right shoulder are closed, according to a 511virginia alert.
