• Wildlife Center rescues Ruddy Duck (rocktownnow.com) — A migratory Ruddy Duck was recently rescued after being found grounded and injured in King George County, and is now recovering at the Wildlife Center of Virginia. Veterinarians discovered a fractured clavicle and beak abrasions, and have created a special water-filled enclosure to mimic his natural habitat. Staff say he’s finally eating and swimming, but his prognosis is still guarded.
