Council Liveblog - Fiscal Measures Pass with Little Comment.

Council carries over funds from last year.

The Fredericksburg City Council held a public hearing on two budget measures which would carry some leftover funds from last year into this year.

One of the budget proposals calls for re-appropriating what are called encumbrances; fiscal commitments for as yet unperformed contracts or services. City staff is recommending that council re-appropriate more than $345,777 to projects which have not yet been carried out.

The other budget proposal calls for nearly $2.7 million in carryovers from last fiscal year into the current fiscal year.  The carryover resolution appropriates balances on city projects where no purchase order exists, but work still remains.
