In honor of the birthday of Revolutionary War hero Hugh Mercer, the Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop will have an open house. Mercer practiced medicine for 15 year's in Fredericksburg. The apothecary lets visitors to an era when ailments were treated with leeches, lancets, snakeroot and crab claws. A fun outing for those interested in local history and medical care of yore.
Living historians will be on hand to help interpret the grounds for visitors.
