Founded in 1995 behind Shepherd’s former home on Charles Street, Downtown Greens promotes environmental care by preserving two urban garden areas, using sustainable gardening methods, teaching children through a weekly garden club, and raising bees with the Urban Bees program. Approaching its 25th anniversary, Downtown Greens is currently headed by Sarah Perry.
“We were so excited to have The Laura Shepherd Show filmed live in the garden Sunday. Not only because Laura co-founded the garden and there’s so much of her here, but also because it’s a really interesting show,” said Perry, executive director of Downtown Greens.
“I am invested in real good music and real good people doing real good things. We’re enjoyed seeing old friends and new visitors to this beautiful garden space on Sunday,” said Shepherd.
