Here's a reminder from Fredericksburg City Schools, which might be jarring inasmuch that the Fourth of July was, like, five minutes ago.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Here's a reminder from Fredericksburg City Schools, which might come as a bit jarring to some folks inasmuch that the Fourth of July was, like, five minutes ago. Namely, the first day of school is August 12.
And this: New Student Registration will be closed Aug. 7-9. For your child to begin on the first day, all paperwork must be complete and in the registrar's office by 3 p.m. Aug. 6. The registrar's office is at 210 Ferdinand Street and is open from 8:30-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

If the start seems a bit early, it's because last November, the Fredericksburg City School Board voted to open schools prior to Labor Day beginning with the 2019-20 school year.
