Fredericksburg Eatery Donating All Sales For A Day To Charity

Support charities by grabbing a meal from Jersey Mike's in Fredericksburg on Wednesday, March 31.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The Fredericksburg Jersey Mike's Subs stores are among more than 60 Virginia locations donating 100 percent of sales to charity on Wednesday. The Fredericksburg restaurants will donate their money to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

The fellowship seeks to empower and unite athletes and coaches through sports and religion. "FCA focuses on serving local communities around the globe by engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to unite, inspire and change the world through the gospel," their website says.

The effort is part of the sandwich franchise chain's Month of Giving, which has raised $32 million for local charities since 2011. Jersey Mike's hopes to shatter its own record and raise more than $8 million this year, it said in a news release.

Jersey Mike’s has been taking donations all month for selected charities. “All sales from all locations” will be donated on Wednesday, the company said. Owners will even donate their money to the cause so that every dollar that flows in on Wednesday will go to charity.

Restaurant owners pick the charities and identify organizations “that support local neighborhoods and build a stronger community,” the company said.
