Fredericksburg Museum To Hold History, Archeology Summer Camps
The Fredericksburg Area Museum is holding two camps that will provide children with fun opportunities to learn about the city's history.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The Fredericksburg Area Museum is holding two summer camps — an at-home camp and an in-person one — that will provide children with fun opportunities to learn about Fredericksurg's history.
The at-home camp, called History in a Bag, allows children to learn about the last 100 years of the city's history. Each bag will include seven days of crafts, STEM projects and games inspired by each decade. The activities are designed to keep children entering grades 1st through 6th entertained for four hours each day.
Families have the option of purchasing the kit with or without craft supplies. Kits with supplies cost $35 for FAM members and $40 for non-members. The kits without supplies are $15 for FAM members and $20 for non-members. Families should order their History in a Bag by July 9. The bags will then be available for pick-up July 16-17 at the FAM at 907 Princess Anne Street.

Campers will explore how archeologists excavated and studied Market Square though fun activities, games and crafts. This camp is for children entering 3rd through 6th grades.
FAM will offer this one-day camp July 16, 23, and 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Market Square. FAM will follow stringent cleaning and health protocols recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Each camper will be provided with their own space and supplies in Market Square. Social distancing will be strictly followed.
