Fredericksburg Pet Of The Week: Adopt The Energetic Nacho

Nacho escaped a Texas hurricane and is now available for adoption from the Fredericksburg SPCA.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Charming and charismatic, the 2-year-old Nacho has already survived some of life's toughest tribulations. But, he doesn't let his past hold him back.

Nacho came to Fredericksburg courtesy of a Wings-of-Rescue flight from Texas after a hurricane blew through the gulf coast earlier this year. When he arrived in Virginia, he tested positive for heartworms and was treated at the Locke Community Medical Center.

But despite what he went through to get here, he is still a playful boy who loves to smile and zoom around the SPCA office. But, he's still on a leash for now and should keep his activity limited while he continues recovering from heartworm treatment.

"He is smart, so don't let his puppy dog eyes and rough start at life fool you!" the SPCA said.
