Fredericksburg Pet Of The Week: Butch Is Awaiting A Forever Home
After he warms up to you, Butch, who is available for adoption from the Fredericksburg SPCA, becomes the big teddy bear he looks like.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Butch came to the Fredericksburg SPCA in the spring and has been in foster care learning how to be confident and feel safe and secure. His foster mom has done such a great job with him that you wouldn't recognize him from the dog who first came to the SPCA.
The two-year-old boy loves his foster dog friends, who have brought out the best in him and made him feel comfortable. He's not a fan of those pesky cats; he's seen enough Saturday morning cartoons to know that they are up to no good.
Butch can be a little shy at first. But after he warms up to you, he becomes the big teddy bear that he looks like. He loves his toy collection almost as much as he likes it when you share treats with him.

Butch's adoption fee is sponsored thanks to Rick's Roasters and everyone who participated in the Cats vs. Dog radio promotion. The dogs won by a hair on their chin.

To promote social distancing, the Fredericksburg SPCA is continuing with its virtual adoption process. All available animals will be listed, in real-time, on Fredspca.org/adopt. Submit your application and a member of the SPCA's adoptions team will be with you in 24 to 72 hours. Virtual or in-person meet and greets are available.
