Fredericksburg Restaurant Inspections: Food Truck Shut Down
A food truck was temporarily shut down by the Rappahannock Area Health District during their most recent round of health inspections.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Officials from the Rappahannock Area Health District inspected multiple food storage and preparation businesses across the Fredericksburg area from May 12 to May 18, including one food truck that was temporarily shut down.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, many inspections are being conducted virtually. So, the listed violations may not be an all-encompassing rundown of all the violations at a particular establishment.
Violations at restaurants typically focus on factors that can contribute to food contamination. The local health department also performs a re-inspection to ensure that possible violations have been corrected.

- Violations:
- Observed no handwashing sign at the following hand sinks: 1- bar area, 2- next to prep sink, 3- at the end of cook line. During the inspection, person in charge placed handwashing signs at sinks.
- No visual or audible alarm on the dishwasher for the sanitizer. The person in charge stated they would use the 3 compartment sink until the alarm could be installed.
- Observed the light intensity over the handwashing sink at the end of the cook line at 16 food candles.

- Violations:
- Operator was serving customers without the generator being turned on. It was determined that the unit is receiving power from the church next door.
- Mobile unit has not been inspected and does not have a current permit
- Water was flowing from the bottom of the unit.
- The unit does not have current tags.
