Fredericksburg Students Will Be Remote For Two Weeks In January
Fredericksburg City Public Schools students will learn virtually for the first two weeks of January 2021.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA – Fredericksburg City Public Schools students will learn virtually for the first two weeks of January 2021 due to the possibility of a surge in COVID-19 cases.
School officials announced the change in the school calendar Wednesday, citing concern for the health and safety of students and staff.
Staff are expected to report to work on Monday, Jan. 4 as scheduled and all students will begin distance learning on that day. Daily schedules will be posted on each schools' website.

New content instruction will start virtually for preschool and elementary students on Jan. 4 as well. Once students return to school, preschool program students will continue to attend school from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. one day a week.
Students in grades 6-12 will focus on establishing classroom communities, introducing expectations, policies and procedures of synchronous lessons. Students will not be given new instruction or content during the first week.

Students in grades K-5 who are in-person will attend school from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Students in grades 6-12 who are in-person will attend school from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
