FredNats To Host Jackie Robinson Legacy Night At New Stadium
The Fredericksburg Nationals will provide a free viewing of the movie "42" on Tuesday at its Jackie Robinson Legacy Night event.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The Fredericksburg Nationals are hosting a Jackie Robinson Legacy Night on Tuesday at the city's new baseball stadium to award the recipients of the Jackie Robinson Writing Contest and provide a free viewing of the movie “42" on the video board.
The movie will be viewable from the field and seating will be spaced to ensure fan safety due to the coronavirus. Fans will be invited to sit only on the dark green stripes of turf on the field and will be asked to sit 15 feet apart from other groups or families. Fans are required to wear masks for admission into the ballpark.
FredNats blankets will be available for purchase, but fans are also invited to bring their own. No lawn chairs will be allowed on the field.

Gates open to the public at 6 p.m., with a limit of 1,000 people. The scholarship awards program, in conjunction with Germanna Community College, will begin at 7:15 p.m. followed by the showing of "42" at 7:45 p.m.
The movie chronicles Jackie Robinson's brief time with the Kansas Monarchs of the Negro Leagues followed by his signing by the Brooklyn Dodgers and the discrimination and abuse he experienced as baseball's first Black major league player of the 20th century.

Concessions will be available for purchase and food trucks will be on site as well. Only credit and debit payments will be accepted.
