Globetrotters To Showcase Amazing Stunts In Fredericksburg
The legendary Harlem Globtrotters will be bringing their dunks and stunts to at the William M. Anderson Center on Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — NBA players can display their athleticism and knack for the spectacular on any given night. But nothing compares to the high-flying dunks and hilarious stunts of the Harlem Globetrotters, who will be bringing their "Pushing the Limits" world tour to Fredericksburg at the William M. Anderson Center on Monday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. Since their start 94 years ago, the Harlem Globetrotters have traveled to 124 countries, entertaining hundreds of millions of fans.
Along with their on-court basketball magic, the Globetrotters will hold a "The Fifth Quarter," a free interactive post-game autograph session where fans will have the opportunity to meet the Globetrotters stars up close and personal. At the University of Mary Washington venue, the Globetrotters also will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the four-point shot, a shot 30-feet from the basket, which they introduced to the sport in 2010.
The Harlem Globetrotters current roster showcases Big Easy Lofton, Hi-Lite Bruton, Hammer Harrison, Thunder Law, Bull Bullard, and Cheese Chisholm. The most famous and iconic members of the Harlem Globetrotters included Marques Haynes, Meadowlark Lemon and Curly Neal. Many other famous NBA players also played for the Globetrotters such as Connie "The Hawk" Hawkins and Wilt "The Stilt" Chamberlain. The Globetrotters signed their first female player, Olympic gold medalist Lynette Woodard, in 1985 and have featured 13 women players in their history.
