How Fredericksburg Precincts Voted In 2021 Democratic Primary
Former Gov. McAuliffe dominated the primary in Fredericksburg, while Del. Ayala and Sam Rasoul split precincts for nod for lt. governor.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Former Gov. Terry McAuliffe handily won the Democratic nomination for governor in Tuesday's primary election, while Del. Hala Ayala secured the lieutenant governor nomination and Attorney General Mark Herring the attorney general nomination.
Statewide, McAuliffe secured 62.23 percent of the vote to Jennifer Carroll Foy's 19.83 percent and Jennifer McClellan's 11.62 percent. Other candidates were Justin Fairfax with 3.54 percent and Lee Carter with 2.78 percent.
Ayala won the lieutenant governor's primary with 37.49 percent of the vote, followed by Sam Rasoul with 24.22 percent, Mark Levine with 11.21 percent, Andria McClellan with 10.64 percent, Sean Perryman with 8.10 percent, Xavier Warren with 4.18 percent and Elizabeth Guzman with 4.15 percent.

Results are also available on a county and precinct level. Across Fredericksburg, voters largely favored former Gov. McAuliffe in the primary for governor. He led all candidates with 49 percent of votes in the city of Fredericksburg.
In the race for lieutenant governor, Fredericksburg voters supported Del. Hala Ayala by a slim margin. Ayala earned 33 percent of the vote in the county, while her closest challenger, Sam Rasoul, garnered support from 30 percent of voters.
