How To Get The Coronavirus Vaccine In The Fredericksburg Area

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The Rappahannock Area Health District has spent the first months of 2021 administering the coronavirus vaccine to as many residents as possible. However, supplies are limited, and many residents are left wondering when and how they will receive the vaccine.
Across Fredericksburg, Stafford County, and Spotsylvania County, 46,918 people have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine. 29,359 people in the area are fully vaccinated, according to the Virginia Department of Health.
Where to get the vaccine in the Fredericksburg area
The Rappahannock Area Health District is providing vaccines in several different areas, depending on the day of the week. These are subject to change over time. Additionally, some pharmacies in the area are offering the vaccine through a partnership with the federal government.

All vaccinations in the Fredericksburg area are by appointment only; no walk-ins are accepted at this time.
- Caroline County
- The Rappahannock Area Health District vaccinates registered individuals in Caroline County on Mondays.
- Fredericksburg City
- The Rappahannock Area Health District vaccinates registered individuals in Fredericksburg City on Tuesdays.
- Spotsylvania County
- The Rappahannock Area Health District vaccinates registered individuals in Spotsylvania County on Wednesdays.
- Stafford County
- The Rappahannock Area Health District vaccinates registered individuals in Stafford County on Thursdays.
- King George County
- The Rappahannock Area Health District vaccinates registered individuals in King George County on Fridays.
- CVS in Stafford and Fredericksburg
- CVS locations in Fredericksburg and Stafford are offering the coronavirus vaccine. Their appointments are fully booked as of March 8th, but their website notes that availability can change quickly.
- Mary Washington Hospital, 1001 Sam Perry Blvd, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401
- Mary Washington Hospital occasionally has excess capacity and offers same-day and next-day vaccine appointments from their own list. Currently, only individuals aged 65 and older can sign up for the hospital's list. Eligible individuals can sign up online to be added to the hospital's list to receive a chance at an appointment.

Virginia is currently in Phase 1b of their vaccine rollout plan. Eligible groups include healthcare workers, essential frontline workers, people aged 65 and older, and those with underlying medical conditions.
