Jesus in Islam
As a Muslim I love Jesus (pboh) and my belief in him as a prophet of God completes my faith.
Muslims do not celebrate Christmas, but many do not know that Jesus (peace be on him) is known as Isa in the Holy Qur’an and is revered by Muslims as a prophet. Jesus (pboh) is mentioned in the Qur’an by name more than the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). We as Muslims believe in his virgin birth but do not believe in his divinity.
There are some similarities between Christian and Muslim beliefs. For example, both Islam and Christianity are monotheistic religions and believe that the universe was created by God, who blessed humanity through revelations, and that there will be a final day of judgment.
In the Holy Quran, God states that Jesus (pboh) guided his people in these words ‘Surely, God is my Lord, and your Lord. So worship Him alone; this is the right path’ (19:37).
