Keeneland Road will be closed to through traffic from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m Thursday for utility work.
The 1000 block of Princess Anne Street (between Amelia and William streets) will be closed to all traffic on Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. A detour will be set up to route motorists around the block during the closure.
"The closure is necessary to facilitate repair work on the Fredericksburg Baptist Church steeple. A crane will be setup in the middle of Princess Anne Street for the project," said a City of Fredericksburg alert. "Traffic heading towards the work zone will be detoured westbound onto Amelia Street, then southbound on Prince Edward Street, then eastbound on William Street, back to Princess Anne Street."

The “rain-date” for the work and associated detour will be Saturday.
