Kim Stricklin, 49

Kimberly A. “Kim” Stricklin, 49, of Stafford County passed away on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 at Mary Washington Hospital with her family at her side after a lifelong and courageous battle with Von Hippel-Lindau Disease.

Kim grew up in Stafford County. She was a 1984 graduate of Stafford High School, where she was an avid tennis player. Kim received an associate’s degree in business administration from Germanna Community College. Upon retiring from the Pentagon, Air Force division, she enjoyed spending time with her family, pampering her Boston Terriers and cooking. Kim embodied a great entrepreneurial spirit.

Survivors include her brothers, Sean S. Thacker (Cheryl) and Justin L. Thacker (Jamie) all of Stafford and Alex R. Thacker of King George; her uncle, Mickey Thacker of Stafford and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at noon Friday, Jan. 29, at the funeral home chapel.

Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
