Lane change on Fall Hill Avenue beginning May 2

City of Fredericksburg Public Works announces a permanent lane change on Fall Hill Avenue at Jefferson Davis Highway. In an effort to reduce congestion at the Intersection of Jefferson Davis Highway & Fall Hill Avenue, Fredericksburg Public Works will be changing the lane configurations of the Eastbound Fall Hill approach. Currently the traffic movements are left and straight from the left lane and right only from the right lane. The new configuration will be left turn only from the left lane, with straight and right turns from the right lane. Please see the diagram below indicating the lane changes.

New lane control signage will be installed at this intersection, along with a message board to alert motorists of the new change. The work is scheduled for the night of May 2, 2021, depending on the weather. Drivers are encouraged to remain alert to the new signage and road markings in this intersection beginning as early as the first week in May.
