Libertytown Set to Receive $125K in Grant Money
Downtown arts hub to receive $25,000 per year over the next five years to maintain operations.
The Economic Development Authority and the Libertytown Arts Workshop have entered into a four year performance agreement worth up to $125,000 in grants. In return, the Libertytown Arts Workshop must submit financial statements, tax returns and business plans with the EDA on an annual basis.
The performance agreement describes Libertytown as a unique arts business which serves as an incubator for more than 50 artists and artisans in the downtown area. The workshop opened in 2001 and is owned by Dan Finnegan.
The first grant payment of $25,000 will be issued to Finnegan on August 1, 2011. If Libertytown continues to meet the performance criteria, the art studio is eligible for an additional four annual payments of $25,000.
