Liveblogging City Hall - Feb. 2, 2011

City Council meets tonight to tackle court security, incentive agreements, and fiscal measures.

Your city council liveblog starts now. The Fredericksburg City Council gathers for a regular meeting tonight in at City Hall. Earlier this evening, the council met to discuss which will be used to guide city policy through 2013. More on that discussion tomorrow.

Tonight the City Council will consider an incentive package for, an $85,000 software upgrade for the fire and rescue services and two budget amendments. Councilor Fred Howe will also present an analysis of the court security interim phase I and phase II studies.

Also on the agenda is a proclamation recognizing Fire Marshall Jay Babcock for 25 years of service in Fredericksburg's Fire Department. As I type this, the room is filling up with a large number of firefighters in their blue uniforms to wish Babcock a happy retirement.
