A Love Letter To John Hilliard

To celebrate Valentine's Day, we asked Patch readers to write a love letter to that special someone and let us deliver it. This is Erika Hilliard's love letter to her husband, John:

To my best friend whom I love a lot, my husband, John Hilliard,

Did I ever tell you how much you mean to me? I feel like our love is everlasting. You are the glue to my rubber: You might bounce off, but our relationship has grown into a partnership where we stick together.

Thank you for being you, which makes you unique for who you are. You have completed me over the years, and we have accomplished so much together. My favorite part of any day is when I am by your side. I love you because you mean the world to me and to your girls, and to your grandson.

I truly would be lost without you. You make me smile, and you are such a hard worker and provider for your family. You have shown me the true meaning of love. You are the love of my life and you will always be in my heart. I am blessed to have you by my side, and you make my world a better place. You surely have helped some of my problems vanish.

Together we’ve created adventures and memories that we can tell our girls and grandson about. You are always there when I need you, the one I can count on and my partner in crime. We have encountered life together through thick and thin moments. I love the scent of you and the warmth when we cuddle together or the scent you leave on your pillow when you leave for work. Even though you have made me mad and we’ve have disagreements, you always mend my heart.

I have to say you have shown me that we will build a life together of love.
