Man Arrested in Alleged Sexual Assault of Fredericksburg Woman

A 22-year-old Fredericksburg woman was reportedly fondled by a neighbor’s acquaintance after he forced his way into her apartment Sunday.

According to Fredericksburg police, a neighbor and the neighbor’s friend knocked on the woman’s door around midnight Sunday, Oct. 12. When she answered, the neighbor asked if he could take her dog out for a walk, which she allowed.

Once the neighbor and the dog were outside the apartment, the friend reportedly forced his way inside the victim’s apartment before grabbing and fondling the victim.

The incident occurred around the 200 block of Kings Mill Court.

The suspect was later identified as 60-year-old Tommie Ray Norris of Fredericksburg. Norris was arrested for sexual battery and breaking and entering with the intent to commit assault. He was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.
